South Africa’s Foreign Minister during the apartheid era, Pik Botha, has passed away.
Botha passed away in his home on Friday morning, his death confirmed by his son – It is not clear yet what the cause of death was.
Pik Botha, the South African Foreign Affairs Minister of the apartheid era, has passed away. Botha was 86 years old and passed away on Friday morning at his home in Pretoria. The former minister’s son, Roelof Botha, informed the media that his father had a pretty tough life.
Late in September, Botha was admitted to a hospital in Pretoria, as reported on by eNCA. However, it is not clear yet what caused Botha’s death.
Botha, who famously walked away from the National Party in 2000 and joined the African National Congress, was finance minister for 17 years.
